Another person from EastSideHigh has admitted to being part of a complex drug trafficking scheme on the dark web.

Allante Pires, aged 25, confessed to helping make, distribute, and sell drugs like MDMA, Ketamine, and Alprazolam. Pires, along with Binh Thanh Le and Steven McCall, operated under the name “EastSideHigh” on the dark web, selling illegal substances.

The investigation into EastSideHigh involved federal officers intercepting drug shipments, using various surveillance methods, and even posing as customers to buy drugs from them on dark web marketplaces.

The investigators began looking into EastSideHigh in June 2018. They tracked drug packages, watched suspects, and communicated with the group while undercover. They also purchased drugs from EastSideHigh on different dark web platforms.

Once they identified the suspects, investigators tracked their movements and even placed GPS devices on their vehicles. They intercepted packages meant for the suspects and found drug-related materials at locations they frequented.

In February 2019, an undercover agent learned that EastSideHigh wanted to exchange Bitcoin for cash. The agent then contacted the group, pretending to be a money launderer.

In March 2019, inspectors arranged to meet with Le at a hotel to exchange Bitcoin for cash. After the Bitcoin was sent, law enforcement entered the room and detained Le. They found Pires in the hotel parking lot and detained him too.

Later, police searched an office connected to the suspects and found large quantities of drugs, cash, and equipment used for drug production. They also discovered incriminating evidence on laptops.

Le has been sentenced to eight years in prison for his role in the drug operation. McCall’s case is scheduled for a plea hearing in June 2022.

The investigators also found a music video linked to individuals involved in the case, which featured scenes filmed at the suspects’ office space.

This case involved sophisticated methods of drug trafficking on the dark web, which is an illegal and dangerous activity. It’s essential to be aware of the risks associated with the dark web and to stay safe online.

Navigating the dark web comes with significant risks, including exposure to malware attacks, DDoS attacks, and social engineering tactics used by cybercriminals. Illegal activities like drug trafficking, such as what occurred with EastSideHigh, can be found on dark-web marketplaces like Dream Market or DarkMarket. It’s crucial to exercise caution and use tools like the Tor Browser to access these sites safely. Websites with .onion domains and Tor networks may hide illegal activities, posing dangers to those who explore them. While some use VPNs for added security, accessing the dark web isn’t without legal and personal risks. Understanding the history and potential pitfalls of the dark web can help individuals make informed decisions about their online activities.

What is the dark web?

The dark web refers to a part of the internet that isn’t indexed by traditional search engines. It’s used for various purposes, including anonymous communication and illegal activities like drug sales on platforms such as Dream Market and DarkMarket.

How to access the dark web?

To access the dark web, you typically use the Tor Browser, which allows you to browse anonymously by routing your internet traffic through a network of servers. However, be aware that accessing the dark web can expose you to risks like malware attacks and social engineering attempts.

Is it safe to use the Tor Browser?

While the Tor Browser provides anonymity, it’s not foolproof. Users should still exercise caution and avoid disclosing personal information or engaging in illegal activities.

Can you access the dark web with a VPN?

Using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) with the Tor Browser can provide an extra layer of security. However, it’s essential to choose a reputable VPN service and understand that VPNs alone may not fully protect you from all risks associated with the dark web.

What can you buy on the dark web?

The dark web hosts a range of illicit goods and services, including drugs (offered by vendors like SmokersCo specializing in weed and hash), counterfeit products, stolen data, and more. Engaging in transactions on the dark web is illegal and can have serious consequences.

How do I stay safe on the dark web?

To stay safe on the dark web, avoid clicking on suspicious links, refrain from sharing personal information, and use security tools like antivirus software and the Tor Browser. Educate yourself about the potential dangers and legal implications of dark web activities.
